Paul Louis Joseph Roux
(1845-1918)
Paul Roux studied under Cabanel and painted scenes in the vicinity of Paris, in the forest of Fontainebleau and in Brittany and Normandy. Visiting England, he painted subjects on the banks of the Thames. His best known paintings are Farm at Fontainebleau-les-Nonnes near Meaux and the Banks of the Seine at Tournedas. He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1870 and continued to exhibit up to the time of his death in Paris in 1918.
